Marcus Wakefield records and performs solo music that blends indie folk influences with the classic songwriting style and instrumentation of 1950s and 1960s artists such as Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, and Bob Dylan. Alexthereviewer on Instagram wrote of his album “What I’ve Made of These” that “within 26 mins of honest, heart wrenching songwriting, Marcus shows himself as an emotional and intelligent songwriter with a great ear for texture and timbres. This may be his first masterpiece.”

Marcus also performs and records in Oshkosh based blues fusion band Local Representative. Local Representative fuses classic blues style songwriting and riffs with electronic grooves and noisy breaks. Their songs range topically from political satire to old fashioned blues heartbreak. With Marcus fronting the band on keyboards and vocals, their live show is a bizarre and entertaining experience that audiences quickly catch onto and become invested in.
